Digital Learning
Welcome to the Blackrock College Digital Learning Department.
The available computer resources have steadily expanded over the years. From 50 personal computers 12 years ago we now have more than 150 computers and 54 mobile netbooks.
Our network infrastructure is now highly advanced and has evolved over the years under the control of the school’s Maintenance Department.
Every classroom is equipped with a media centre to enhance the learning experience.
We also have a specialist computer laboratory with 28 computers. The computer lab is also used for night time computer courses.
Our DCG (Design Communication & Graphics) classroom has 23 state of the art computers which run the very latest graphics software.
The new Digital Learning Centre will be equipped with various types of tablets and BYODs to encourage individual and group learning.
The newly re-designed website will keep parents, students, staff and prospective parents up to-date on College activities.
Moodle VLE system is available for all students and parents. A VLE is a virtual classroom that allows teachers and students to communicate with each other online.
The VLE allows parents to view their son’s personal details, timetable and all issued school reports.
