Junior Certificate Results 2024

We are enormously proud of our Transition Year boys who received their Junior Cycle Results on Wednesday.

Congratulations to the boys, their parents and Teachers on an incredible set of results. In most Junior Cycle subjects, Distinctions are only awarded to between 2%-4% of the cohort of students that sit the exam. Across 15 JC subjects here in the College the number of Distinctions achieved far exceeded the national average which is incredible.

Among the many highlights were:

• 33 Distinctions in Higher Maths – 13.1% of our students. National average: 3.9%

• 31 Distinctions in Science – 14.7% of our students. National average: 3.5%

• 30% achieved Distinctions in Graphics and 46% achieved Distinctions in Wood Technology – national averages were 4.2% and 3.8% respectively

• Out of a total of 1889 papers sat, 45% of results were Higher Merit or higher (75% or better)

The boys had built a solid foundation on which to develop themselves in Transition Year.
