Virtual Sports & Family Day 2020

It is with great excitement that we are going to launch Blackrock College TV’s first ever live event that will take place on our YouTube channel, on Friday 15th May at 6pm.
Your sons sent in over 1300 videos.
One of our four core values of Blackrock College is ‘Be There’. 2020’s Sports and Family Day is different. It shows us that we can ‘Be There’, even though we’re apart. It is proof that our community is very special, a willingness to take part and continue our annual celebrations, despite being unable to be physically present. Every challenge in life allows us all opportunities to create something new, something extraordinary. We have.
Thank you to all students who entered, the families who sent in creative family relay videos! Without you, none of this would have been possible.
With 100s of hours of footage, it was no small feat to put this altogether. It required a highly talented production team, who were not afraid to put in either the long hours or the dedication. They have worked tirelessly over the last number of days to make this a reality. They are Robert McNabb, Alex Brophy and Matthew Kane of Transition Year. Sean Hannon, class of 2019, was invited back to become a vital member of this team and he RSVP’ed without haste and has helped create this unique event. A big thank you also goes out to Garry Ringrose, class of 2013, for his continuous support towards the College’s sporting events.
Entries came from all six houses; DeValera, Duff, Ebenrecht, Leman, McQuaid and Shanahan. There can only be ONE winner! Find out who won during the live event!
6pm this Friday, gather your families. Finish the week on a high….BE THERE, together.
