Vincent de Paul Table Quiz 2nd Year

It was great to see such enthusiasm in Second Year for the annual Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal which this year was a new initiative, a Table Quiz. The Quiz took place last Friday afternoon 10th December in three different venues.

It was brilliantly compèred by Mr Grant, Mr O’Brien and Mr Somerville, ably assisted by the 4th Year House Captains and with regular updates on the live Leaderboard, thanks to Oisin Daly, Harry Pierce, Senan McCloskey, AJ Adoghe and Scott Downes (all 4th Year).

There were 10 rounds of 6 questions each and we congratulate the winning de Valera ‘Paris’ Team comprising Hugh Barry, Tom Cunningham, James Kearns, Daniel McDaid, Ted Taylor and Conor White who scored 54 points. Our congratulations also to the joint runners up, on 51 points each; the McQuaid ‘Buenos Aires’ Team comprising Conall Byrne, Daniel Gray, Yixin Ma, Oisin Murphy and Junyu Shen and to the Shanahan ‘Perth’ Team of Hugo Carroll, David Healy, Sam LeBolloch, Cian Murphy and Harry O’Sullivan.

Well done to all our participants, to the 2nd Year House Captains who assisted so well with the organisation of the event and to the Household and Maintenance Teams who prepared the venues. Most importantly, sincere thanks to all who contributed so generously, raising an impressive total of €5,441 for this very worthwhile cause.

We thank Ms Harlowe for her leadership and organisation of the event.
