Swimming – Blackrock Swimming Gala 2021

Blackrock College Swimming Gala 2021
Tuesday, 12th October
There was a fantastic atmosphere at last Tuesday night’s Swimming Gala which returned after a 24 month absence.
The highlight of the Senior Gala (4th / 5th /6th Years) was Finn O’Neill’s (5th Year) victory in the Principal’s Trophy with Patrick Curley (6th Year) in 2nd place.
Ebenrecht won both the 6th and 5th Year Inter-house Competition and finished 2nd in 4th Year.
The Junior Gala (2nd /3rd Years) followed and the main event was the Junior Championship over 50m produced a blanket finish with Cuan Fallon just getting home ahead of James Lee and Ciaran Murphy (all 3rd Year). Ciaran Murphy won the 3rd Year 50m Freestyle from James Lee.
Leman won both Inter-house Competitions from Duff in 3rd Year and McQuaid in 2nd Year.
There were 33 events over the evening run with clockwork precision and we thank our colleagues Mr Vanstone, Mr O’Brien, Mr Brennan, Ms Ni Shuairc, Mr Godson, Mr Kelly, Ms Nolan, Ms Dobbyn, Ms Harlowe, Mr O’Neill, Mr Ryan, Mr Herlihy, Mr MacDermott and our Household Department without whom it wouldn’t happen. We also congratulate the House Captains on the 98% turnout.
A great evening, enjoyed by all.
Another sign of our return to normality.
