Soccer – Paul Stanley Memorial Trophy Final 2022

Congratulations to captain Daniel Bennett (5th Year) and the House Dayboys on their victory in this year’s Paul Stanley Memorial Trophy held in Stradbrook on Wednesday, 25th May. A bright start saw the 5th Years take an early 2-0 lead, however, the Castle Boarders fought back to level the game at 2-2 thanks to goals from Andrew Harvey (6th Year) and Matthew Lorusso (6th Year). The Boarders dominated for 10 minutes after this, however, two David McHugh MacHugh (5th Years) goals restored the 5th Years two goal lead before half time.

In the 2nd half a goal each from Harry Mellon (5th Year) and Harry Whelan (5th Year) secured the win for the House Dayboys.

Paul Stanley’s brother David presented the trophy to Daniel. His father was also in attendance as this marked the 50th anniversary of his passing following a motor bicycle accident at the front gate.
