SENIOR SOCCER UPDATE

Blackrock 2                                          Beneavin College 2

An early goal from Robert Young (6th Year) gave us a deserved lead. An excellent solo run from Robert Young (6th Year) a few minutes later set up a chance for Max Airey (6th Year) to finish calmly. However Beneavin responded well and scored two goals in the second half.

Clongowes 3                                          Blackrock 2

Our first visit to Clongowes with a soccer team ended in defeat. Clongowes started the better and were 2-0 up before, James Kelly’s (6th Year) penalty just before half-time reduced the deficit. Clongowes scored a third before James Kelly got his second.

We need to defeat St. Michaels (away) on Wednesday 15th February in order to qualify for the semi-final.

We wish the squad well.
