Senior English Debating – Senior V Junior Debate

Congratulations to our ten speakers who took part in the Junior vs. Senior English debate, debating the motion that “This House Believes that Celebrity Culture is the New Opiate of the Masses”.

Speaking for the proposition was the Junior team of Gregory Quinn, Luca Kenny, Patrick Hayden, Harry Pierce and A.J. Adoghe (all 3rd Year) and they competed so well, against our Senior team of Michael Lucey, Pearse Woods (both 6th Year), James Carroll, Michael White (both 5th Year), and Ben Kieran-Glennon (Transition Year). The Seniors were deemed the winners in a very even contest.

Patrick Hayden (3rd Year) was named as best speaker, following his most engaging speech, rebuttal, and teamwork.

We thank Mr Orrock, Mr Sheil, Ms Pierce and Ms Ní Shuairc for their adjudication and preparation of the boys.
