Senior Debating
October 2020
The Senior Debating Society held its first open debate of the academic year on Tuesday October 6th in the Lecture Hall, debating the motion: ‘This House Would Introduce Mandatory Social Media Checks by Potential Employers’.
We send our congratulations to all of the dedicated speakers, who incorporated strong lines of argument and raised very considered points throughout the evening.
Michael White, James Carroll (both 5th Year), Stephen Corr and Joey Haughton (both 6th Year) successfully proposed the motion despite the best efforts of George Francis, Luke Brophy (both fifth Year), Ciarán McCann and Michael Lucey (both sixth Year). Michael Lucey was adjudged best speaker.
We thank our Judges for the evening, Stephen Ryan (Class of 2018) and Ms Mc Groary.
We thank Ms Ní Shuairc and Mr Orrock for their organisation of Senior Debating.
