Senior Debating – Leinster Schools’ Debating Competition

Congratulations to our Senior Debating teams of Daniel Welch & Stephen Corr (both 6th Year) (opposing), Michael Lucey & Conor Slattery (both 6th Year) (opposing), Joey Haughton (6th Year) & Frazer McGinn (Transition Year) (proposing) and Michael White & James Carroll (both 5th Year) (proposing) who successfully qualified for Round 3 of the Leinster schools Debating competition. The Debates were conducted online over Zoom.

The motion was:

“This House Believes That The Rising Use of Social Media as a Primary Form of News Has Done More Harm Than Good”

So far, the Leinster Schools Debating competition has been a great success for Blackrock Senior Debating this year. All four teams in round two have progressed to Round 3, with two of these teams placing in their room. There is one more round remaining, to be held in January, before a potential quarter final round.
