Science – Online Regional STEM Fair

There were 430 entries in the Online Regional STEM Fair and we congratulate Diarmaid Byrne and Simon Considine (both 3rd Year) on winning a Chemistry Award, with their project “investigating the effect of concentration on temperature in an exothermic reaction”.

They have won a Dublin Crystal Trophy, €20 one4all gift token and a Molecular Medal set for the chemistry laboratory.

Patrick Hayden, Senan McCloskey and Phillip O’Neill (all 3rd Year) won an ISTA Award for their project “Is grey water great for plants” also winning a Dublin Crystal Trophy and €20 one4all gift token.

We also congratulate Malachy McLoughlin and Amlan Parida (both 3rd Year) on their entry “Can you memorise music while sleeping?” and encourage them to develop it for the BT Young Scientist Competition.

We thank Mr Kelly for his encouragement of and support, for, the boys. May they be an inspiration to their peers. Roll on the Young Scientist.
