During the last week of the Easter holidays, Brian Carroll (2nd Year) competed in the Irish Sailing Youth National Championships in Bangor, Northern Ireland. He raced in the ILCA 6 fleet (formerly laser radial) which is the current Olympic class boat for youth racing.
Over 4 days of racing with weather ranging from very windy to little or no wind, 41 sailors raced around a series of marks on a trapezoid course.
Brian will now travel to the European Championships in Thessaloniki, Greece at the end of June and will be the youngest competitor representing Ireland.
