Leinster Schools
Senior Cup Final

Captain Oliver Coffey (6th Year) and his Senior squad gave their all in the RDS on St. Patrick’s Day. They are disappointed, understandably.
We are very proud of them. They have represented us throughout the season, right up to the final whistle last Friday, with dignity, humility and sportsmanship. They are an excellent group of young men, a credit to their families and the College.
We congratulate Gonzaga on a fine victory. They were excellent throughout the game and played with skill and style.
Our team of coaches could not have given more. Their expertise, commitment, care and attention to detail provide the boys with examples of leadership that fuels personal development. We thank Mr Vanstone, Mr Murray, Mr Manion, Mr Toomey, Mr Moore, John McKee and our medical support team of Dr Terry Boyle, Peter Mulrean and Aisling Carr.
We thank our cheerleaders and the boys in attendance, both in the RDS and in the College on Friday evening. The team was given a tremendous reception on their return. It is the Blackrock tradition to welcome teams home in the same fashion whether they have the cup with them or not. Each member of the squad spoke eloquently, grateful for the support and encouragement from their families, the cheerleaders and their fellow students.
Finally, we thank our personnel behind the scenes – our Catering and Household staff and our Games Administrator – who make such occasions possible.
