It was much closer than that!
David Stanley, brother of Paul, in whose memory this annual soccer competition is played, presented the trophy to captain Scott Cullinane after a very hard fought game.
It ws 1-1 at half-time, Maksim Chavro and Mark O’Leary with the goals, but the Dayboys added to their total in the 2nd half with goals from Scott (2), Ben Horkan and Ben White. A great performance in goals by Tom Brophy also contributed to the victory.
I thank the boys for their spirited engagement, Mr Evan O’Brien for his organisation and refereeing and Mr MacDermott and Ms Mullen for their side line advice.
