Congratulations to the Present Team of Colm Fagan, Michael White, Matthew O’Donnell (all 6th Year) and Ben Kieran Glennon (5th Year) that successfully opposed the motion that:

Motion: “Ireland’s best days are behind her”

It was a highly entertaining debate with all eight speakers making a telling contribution.

The Past Team of Freddie Noonan (Class of 2021), last year’s valedictorian, Toirleac O’Brien (Class of 1975), James Brandon and Joshua Kieran Glennon (both Class of 2015) were excellent.

We thank our chairman for the evening John Huggard (Class of 2020), senior debating co-ordinator Ms. Ni Shuairc and Mr. Orrock, adjudicators; Mr. Sheil, Ms. Kelleher and Stephen Ryan (Class of 2018), President of the Union Robert Brophy (Class of 1982), my colleagues in attendance the boys and family members.
