Mass of Remembrance 2020

Mass of Remembrance
Wednesday, 25th November 2020
Fr. Tom Nash and concelebrant Fr. Paddy Dundon presided at our Annual Mass for the deceased members and friends of our extended community in the College chapel last Wednesday evening 25th November.
President of the Union Stephen Mullin (class of 1983) represented our many past students worldwide, particularly those who have passed away this year and have no one to mourn for them.
Brian Herlihy delivered an excellent homily as we paused to remember ‘great lives lived’. However, there is more to it than that. There is Blessing in remembering our loved ones because it reminds us of not just who we are but whose we are and that all things, heaven and earth, rest in God.
“Death is not the final word for any of us for we are an Easter people”.
This poignant and moving ceremony was viewed via 465 unique logins across 11 different countries (Ireland 350; U.K. 116; U.S.A. 30), and remains available via our website.
We thank Fr. Nash, Fr. Dundon, Mr Herlihy, Sacristan Ms Dunne, Cantors Joshua Fitzpatrick and Sam Cahill (both 5th Year), Mr Grumley-Traynor, Mr Orrock, Ms Crimmins, Mr O’Shea and our leader of liturgical services, the inspirational Mr Madden for such a comforting and uplifting liturgy.
