Top Class!
‘A night at the movies’ was the theme of this year’s Leman Concert as the choirs, bands, orchestra, ensembles and soloists interpreted superbly the theme music/songs from an array of films including Mamma Mia, Treasure Island, Star Wars, Top Gun, the Bond movies, the Jungle Book, Working Girl, Gadfly, Selma, Armageddon and many more – we all have our favourites but without exception, each was performed to the highest possible standard. Remarkable! Outstanding! Magnificent! Mission accomplished!
Our guests – President of the Union John Rogan (Class of 1989) and his wife Nikki, the Chairman of the S.E.T., Pat Kitterick and our own Chairman of the Board, Damien Kennedy and his wife Cora enjoyed a brilliant evening’s entertainment.
I congratulate and thank all our performers – soloists, chorists (past, present and adult), a capella, trad, jazz and pop groups, our orchestra, our M.C.s and back stage crew. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Thanks to our colleagues Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr Cavanagh, Ms O’Kane, Mr Sullivan, Mr Toirleac O’Brien, Mr Swan, Mr Chris O’Sullivan, Mr Orrock and Mr Maher for an incredible evening’s
entertainment. I also thank Mr Madden, Mr Sheil – their assistants Robert Foley, Michael Callaghan and Ciaran Quinn (all 6th Year) – Mr Wyer, Fr O’Brolchain and Mr Herlihy for their organisation of the logistics.
