An Extraordinary Production!
Last Saturday night’s premier of the Leman Concert 2021 on YouTube was phenomenal. It was a show like no other.
This was a mammoth event. Mr Grumley-Traynor in his programme notes, shared with us that over 1000 videos were submitted as well as over 1000 audio files. Each boy had to learn how to record their performance and then upload it which then had to be edited and merged with the other submissions.
To produce 23 different acts, seamlessly linked by articulate and measured ‘voice overs’ as boys shared with the audience what Blackrock means to them, reflects the skill, will and gargantuan efforts of my colleagues.
The theme of the concert was that “the show must go on” and it did in a truly inspirational fashion. This is a tribute to how the “show”, in the broadest sense of the word, has continued at Blackrock – classes, societies, extra and co-curricular activities delivered in partnership by staff and students.
We salute, and we are in awe of, our colleagues Mr Grumley-Traynor, Ms O’Kane, Mr Cavanagh, Mr Chris O’Sullivan, Mr Simon Morgan, Mr Maher, Jody Trehy (sound) and Cormac Dunne (class of 2013), Mr Madden, Mr Sheil, Mr Orrock and Mr Herlihy all of whom made this such an uplifting occasion.
Absolutely Amazing!
