Junior Debating – MACE
Saturday, 25th January 2020
We congratulate our Junior Debating team on their performance in the Castleknock Community College Matheson MACE Debating Competition held on Saturday, January 25th.
Ben Kieran Glennon and Conor Hughes (both 3rd Year) represented Closing Government alongside two students from Loreto on The Green in opposition to students from Belvedere College and St. Conleth’s School in the final round. Ben and Conor were unanimously voted as the winning team with Ben also picking up an individual award.

The motions included:
Debates | |

Round 1: | This House Would make voting compulsory in all elections from the age of 18. |
Round 2: | This House Would legalise the sale of human organs. |
Round 3: | This House Would stop all foreign aid and redirect the funds towards homelessness. |
Final Motion | This House Would put any minor that is a member of a gang in the care of the State. |
