Leinster Finals in Clonkeen College
Saturday, 29th February 2020
It was another successful day for our Junior debaters Ben Kieran-Glennon, Conor Hughes, Daniel Keeley (all 3rd Year), Luca Kenny, Patrick Hayden, Gregory Quinn, AJ Adoghe, Amlan Parida, Harry Pierce and Peter McVeigh (all 2nd Year) at the Leinster finals held in Clonkeen College last Saturday, 29th February.
We congratulate the boys on their performance and for being great ambassadors for Blackrock.
The motions included:
Debates | |

Round 1: | This house Believes that the media should be prevented, by law, from intruding on the lives of public figures. |
Round 2: | This House Would remove religious patronage from all Irish schools. |
Round 3: | This House Believes that the EU should punish individual member states of undemocratic regimes. |
Round 4: | This House Would require state broadcasters to give equal airtime to both male and female sports. |
Final Round: | This House Would legally allow the homeless occupy long term vacant properties. |
Ben Kieran-Glennon (3rd Year) and Patrick Hayden, Luca Kenny and AJ Adoghe (all 2nd Year) have qualified to compete in the Nationals on 21st March in Loreto College, St Stephen’s Green.
