Junior Debating – Colaiste na hInse
Saturday, 18th February 2020
13 representatives from 2nd and 3rd Year spent 8 hours in tough debating in Colaiste na hInse last Saturday, 18th February.
Ben Kieran- Glennon (3rd Year) and Gregory Quinn (2nd Year) qualified for the Final alongside Wesley College proposing that this house “Believes that the Irish Government has failed the youth” with Belvedere College and Colaiste na hInse in opposition. Gregory was nominated as 7th best speaker out of 112 students. Ben Kieran-Glennon was voted best speaker. Patrick Hayden & Luca Kenny (both 2nd Year) were selected to compete in the ICYD competition at Oxford University in May.
Out of over 300 speakers who took part in Leinster, the following students have qualified to compete in the Leinster Finals on February 29th in Clonkeen College:
Ben Kieran-Glennon, Conor Hughes, Daniel Keeley (all 3rd Year) Luca Kenny, Patrick Hayden, Gregory Quinn, AJ Adoghe, Amlan Parida and Harry Pierce (all 2nd Year).
