6TH YEAR 5-6 | CASTLE BOARDERS 2-3 |
There was a fabulous atmosphere pitch side last Friday as the Karl Ashe Memorial tournament took centre stage. 3 early goals gave the 6th Year dayboys a comfortable early lead, one that the boarders could only reduce to 4 points in the second half and a half time lead of 4-1 to 1-1. After words of wisdom from Mr. Halpin the Boarders flew out of the blocks and scored 1-2 without reply, however, the wind was taken out of their sails with 3 unanswered 6th year points. Co-captains Seán Purcell and Eoin Ryan look forward to the final on Friday against a strong TY side.

TRANSITION YEAR 1-8 | 5TH YEAR 1-8 |
Mr Grant & Mr O’Neill watched on as their TY side played some excellent football against a very well organised 5th Year team. After losing out in last year’s final, the 5th Years were looking to go one step further, however after extra-time they were undone in a penalty shootout. Both goalkeepers pulled off great saves, however it was a sudden death winner by Philip Guinan that won the contest for the TY boys.
We thank Mr O’Brien, the Deans, the boys, their mentors and referees for their organisation of this important memorial event.
