Environmental Awareness Week 2019

Environmental Awareness Week
Monday 16th to Friday 20th September 2019
I congratulate all members of our school community on this successful feature week which highlighted, once again, the very serious damage being done to our planet.
The message is that we, as a community, must act consistently and coherently with the purpose to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet.
The programme included a strong poster campaign, a celebration of our 5 Green Flags and the Wellbeing Flag, a beach clean-up, tours of our campus following the heritage trail and visiting our bio-diversity areas, a power shut off for Periods 7 and 8 on Friday as well as representation at the protest march by our Green School’s Committee (GSC).
As a missionary College, we must act locally but think globally. We make a difference by small personal actions which build into the school community.
I thank Ms Wyse, Mr Copeland and my colleagues in the R.E. Department, our GSC and the students Leadership body for their support and determination to deliver an impactful programme.
