Debating

Congratulations to Oisin Ryan (3rd Year) who represented the College at the first round of this year’s Matheson Junior Debating National Mace Competition in Coláiste na hInse in Laytown.

After four rounds of debating, on motions ranging from Feminism to Torture, Oisin placed Second overall out of over 60 Speakers. He continued his success on October 4th, at the Kilkenny College round of the same competition, where he placed 7th overall.

These are two fantastic achievements, and set Oisin in good stead to progress to the Leinster Final later in the year.

We wish him luck at the Wesley College round next Saturday, and thank his teacher Ms. Dobbyn for her facilitation of Junior Debating.
