BLACKROCK AT ITS FINEST
Tuesday, 3rd December 2019
Fr O’Brolchain urged the boys not to forget God this Christmas. “God our Father is with us and in us”! He told the assembled student body, over 1150 strong, 1st to 6th Year, that they should also find time for their Grandparents and not to miss the opportunity to tell their parents that they love them.
Our Carol Service is a fantastic event, a coming together in preparation for Christmas. There are so many to thank: Our Spiritual Director Fr O’Brolchain, who presided, the Libermann, Leman, and Corless Choirs and the orchestra directed by Mr Grumley-Traynor ably supported by Ms O’Kane, Mr Cavanagh, Mr Orrock: our soloists Robert Byrne, Conor Slattery, Daniel Welch, (all 5th Year), for The Holy City, Aidan Canavan, Adam Harvey, Mark Landers, Elliot McNamara and Jack Tiernan (all 6th Year), for O Holy Night; readers Lorcan Patchell, Conor Duddy, Alexander Doyle, Tom O’Connor (all 6th Year), Ms Kelleher, Mr Barrett, Ms Maguire, Mr Maher, and our servers Jamie Yarr, Malcolm Rowe, Conor Gammell and Aaron Rowan (all 6th Years) all of whom made a valuable contribution. I acknowledge the wholehearted support of the student body, especially 6th Year. I also thank the Deans, our Committee of Mr O’Reilly, Ms McGlynn, Ms Crimmins, Tommy Moore, our Household and Maintenance staff and my colleagues in attendance.
Top Class!
