Boarders Family Mass 2020

Annual Boarders Family Mass
Sunday, 11th October 2020
Our new webcam brought the family Mass to the families of our Boarders last Sunday. In many ways, Covid or not, this is probably the best way to reach the extended Castle Community. Due to restrictions two Masses were required with Fr Cormac celebrating for 3rd and 6th Years and Fr Paddy Dundon for 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Years.
Fr Cormac preached at both masses as he urged the boys to make time for prayer. “God is unseen but he is always with us”. His message was summarised in the acronym – ROCK MEN. Reach Out with Care and Kindness and pray in the Morning, before you Eat and at Night.
It was a most uplifting occasion. Mr MacDermott assured the worldwide Congregation that their boys were in good hands and thriving in the Castle’s Spiritan ethos.
We thank our readers John Cawley, Charlie Mullin (both 6th Year), Joseph Tansey and Fergal O’Sullivan (both 5th Years), Cian Dennehy (3rd Year), Declan Cadden (2nd Year) and Cantor Seamus Ennis (6th Year).
We thank Stephen Mullin (class of 1983) for providing that vital connection to our past and Mr MacDermott, Mr Mealiffe, Mr Halpin, Mr Brennan, Mr Madden, Ms Crimmins, Fr O’Brolchain, Fr Dundon, organist Carol O’Connor and Castle Chaplain Mr Adam Puszczewicz-Cuddihy who by their presence, preparation and pastoral support made it so meaningful.
