Basketball – U-19A Basketball East Leinster League v Coláiste Íosagáin

Congratulation to captain Maitiu Heckmann (6th Year) and his squad on their victory over Coláiste Íosagáin in the round of 32 of the All-Ireland ‘A’ schools cup.

Both teams took their time to get going with ‘Rock trailing 7-5 at the end of the first quarter. However, our offence was excellent in the second and third quarters winning them 18-2 and 20-5 respectively before solid game management in the final quarter led to the win. However, the squad is aware we will need to start games better going forward.

Aaron O’Halloran (4th Year) put in a season’s best performance with 12 points, backed up by Maitiu Heckmann with 11 points and Sam Curley (4th Year) with 10 points. Eric Brandt (6th Year) led the way on defence and Luke Brophy (6th year) brought a work ethic to the team that inspired all around him.
