Basketball – All Ireland Schools’ League Playoff v Summerhill College

Congratulations to joint captains Ronin O’Halloran and Murray Baker (both 6th Year) and their squad on this win over Summerhill College (Sligo). A tough physical outfit they made this game a real battle throughout, with the game hanging in the balance until the final 2 minutes.

Summerhill led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter having dictated the tempo of the game. More composure came into our game in the second and third quarter, as we won them 10-4 and 17-11 respectively. Excellent game management in the final quarter saw us maintain the advantage.

As a consequence, we have qualified for an All-Ireland League quarter final which will be on the 26th January in the National Basketball Arena.

Next up is St. Munchins College in the All-Ireland Cup Final on Wednesday 19th January. This can be seen live on the Basketball Ireland youtube channel at 12.30pm.
