6th Year Family Mass, Sept 2022

6th Year Family Mass
Saturday, 17th September 2022
Fr. Kellan Scott D.P. (class of 2011) was chief celebrant at our 6th Year family mass last Saturday, 17th September.
In an excellent homily, he reminded us that God’s command is to love, “Love demands sacrifice, requires courage.” He urged each of our 6th Years to use the retreats to take time to reflect on their relationship with God.
The massive congregation witnessed the commissioning of our 23 special Minister of the Eucharist Luke Carrol, David Crowley, Louis Dignam, Oscar Dougan, James Heavy, James Larkin, Evan Lyons, Louis McDermott, Frazer McGinn, Diarmaid Monahan, Christopher Nolan, Jamie Rogan, Rocco Terrinoni, Eoghan Walsh and Mikey Yarr (all 6th Year). We thank them for undertaking this very important ministry.
Our 6th Years have now gone on their three day Retreats across 15 different centres, 18th – 20th September. We wish them well.
We thank my colleagues who accompany them as well as those who cover classes in their absence. It is a team effort. We thank President of the Union John Doherty (class of 1986) and his wife Nicola, for representing that vital bond between Blackrock Past and Present.
We thank our celebrants Fr Scott, Fr O’Brolchain, Fr Nash, Fr Dundon and Fr McDonald, my colleagues Mr Grumley-Traynor, Mr Orrock, Ms Crimmins, Ms Dunne, Mr Ryan, Mr Herlihy, Ms Nolan, Ms Markey and our Chaplin Mr Madden as well of course, the many boys and their families in attendance.
