6th Year Family Mass 2021

6th Year Family Mass
Saturday, 18th September 2021
The Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Reverend, Dr Dermot Farrell was chief celebrant at the 6th Year family mass on Saturday evening last, 18th September.
He urged the boys to lead a life of service, to be attentive to the needs of others, for this is authentic discipleship. “Discipleship means putting my life at the service of someone else’s”.
This weekend, the 6th Years will travel to nine different retreat centres around the country, to step away for a short while, to reflect, to grow, to share, to serve. We wish them well and thank Mr Madden for his organisation of such a wonderful opportunity. We thank my colleagues who have accompanied them and also my colleagues who have provided the cover in their absence.
The mass was a celebration of community. It was fantastic to have parents and their sons present, part of the liturgy, be it in the chapel, the Lecture Hall, or the CADLC.
We thank President of the Union Robert Brophy (class of 1983) and his wife Sarah, Mr Ryan, Mr Herlihy, Mr Grumley-Traynor, Ms Crimmins and of course Mr Madden. We especially thank Archbishop Farrell and our concelebrants Fr. O’Brolchain, Fr. Nash, Fr. Dundon, Fr. Healy and Fr Donald for such a wonderful liturgy.
It is great to be back!
