5th Year Family Mass, Jan 2022

5th Year Family Mass
Sunday, 30th January 2022
It was great to be back! – a full chapel, choir in full voice for the first time in two years. I had almost forgotten how powerful these occasions are.
Chief celebrant Fr. Tom Nash in an excellent homily talked about the sacrament of marriage as a commitment to better way of life and reminded us all of the importance of taking time for one another.
The mass was introduced by Evan Lyons (5th Year) who set the tone with 3 questions:
1. What have I done for someone else?
2. What has someone else done for me?
3. How can I be kind to myself?
The mass marked the end of Catholic Schools Week which was themed “Catholic Schools Living Life to the Full” and also the start of Wellbeing Week with its recommendation to Connect – Keep Learning – Be Active – Give – Take Notice.
It was a great occasion and we thank celebrants Fr. Nash, Fr. O’Brolchain, Dean Ms. Dobbyn, Ministers of the Eucharist: Mr. O’Reilly, Ms. Crimmins and Cian Ryan (6th Year), Mr. Grumley-Traynor, Mr. Orrock, Ms. Nolan and of course, the inspirational Mr. Madden who put it all together and finally, the boys and families in attendance who made it such a special occasion.
