5TH YEAR FAMILY MASS
Fr. Billy Cleary, CSSp. Ethos Officer with the D.E.A. and member of the Spiritan Provincial Leadership Team, was Chief Celebrant at last Sunday’s 5th Year Family Mass, 1st March, 2015.
He reminded the boys that “The stranger is the friend that you have not yet met”. We are all part of God’s family and to be truly sons of God, we must exercise an option for the poor, for the marginalised in society at home and abroad.
Andreas Mokake, from Spirasi, the Spiritan Agency for helping Asylum Seekers in Ireland, was presented with a cheque for €2,122, proceeds from the 23-hour sponsored Fast by 79 5th Years and the Dean.
The Family Masses play a vital role in building community at Blackrock. We appreciate the many families who make the effort to join us in prayer, in spirit.
I thank Ms O’Kane, Ms O’Connor, Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr Goan, Mr Tom Ryan, the Dean Ms Dobbyn, Fr. Cleary and the concelebrating College Community, our Ministers of the Eucharist, Joshua Gorman-Climax and Richard Grainger (both 6th Year) and the parents, families and boys of 5th Year in attendance who contributed to a wonderful celebration.
