5K Rock Run Launch
Olympic Champion Ronnie Delany, and multiple (7) times All-Ireland winner Cian O’Sullivan (Class of 2007), Vice President of the Union Robert Brophy (Class of 1983) were guests of honour at the launch of this year’s 5K Rock Run in aid of Machakos and GOAL, to be held on Sunday 26th April from 11.00 am with sponsors KPMG, Eversheilds, Sutherland and Bank of Ireland and promotion by Independent Newspaper, this will be a tremendous fun event for all the family – there is a 2.5K Run for Under 14s.
At the launch MC Conn O’Byrne urged the gathering of parents, students from TY and Willow Park 1st Year, staff and guests to support this worthy cause. Tom King and Charlie O’Brien spoke about their recent visit to Kenya and the impacts that the Blackrock Machakos programme.
We congratulate the Transition Year boys on an excellent launch and wish them and the College Union well in its organisation.
