3rd Year Family Mass 2018

3rd Year Family Mass
Mission Sunday: 11th November 2018
Fr John Kilcrann C.S.Sp (Class of 1971), chief celebrant at last Sunday’s Family Mass, reminded us that the small acts of sharing make a difference, from a friendly smile to an openness to others, to those who may need some gesture of friendship.
This was a wonderful expression of community, of solidarity. Sunday was Armistice Day and we remembered the 55 Blackrock College past-students who died in the Great War.
I thank President of the Union John Rogan (Class of 1989) and his wife Nicki who represented that vital link between past and present.
I thank our concelebrants Fr Whelan, Fr O’Brolchain, Fr Dundon and of course Fr Kilcrann. I also thank Deacon Liam now in his 50th Year in the College Community; our Cantors, Adam James and Stephen Wong, our Choir, Ministers of the Eucharist, Drummond McGinn, Dylan Hutchinson, Diarmuid Foley and Ben White (all 6th Years), readers, servers, parents and students who showed up in such massive numbers.
I thank my colleagues Mr Madden, Ms McGlynn, Ms Crimmins, Ms O’Kane, Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr O’Reilly, Mr Herlihy, Mr Hurl, Mr Brennan, Ms Nolan and Alex Kelly (Transition Year) who played the organ.
This was a marvellous liturgy. Well done and thank you parents and boys of 3rd Year for this endorsement of our ethos.
