There was a fantastic atmosphere last Sunday evening, 26th May, in Stradbrook as Christy McDaid and David Brandon presided over the annual awards. Over 400 medals were presented as those who completed the 100 mile cycle on the May Bank Holiday weekend received medals. This was the 30th renewal and over 220 cyclists participated.

Willow Wheelers is a family club and it is great to see the different generations bonding together.

The 100 mile cycle raised €72,818 for the Spiritan Missions and it was a great honour to receive this incredible sum on behalf of the congregation.

Other highlights included Tom O’Connor (5th Year), winning ‘Cyclist of the Year’, Harry Francis (5th Year) who won the cyclist for ‘Best All-Rounder’ and Shane Redahan (Transition Year) received the Mission Awareness Award. There is no doubt that Christy McDaid is a remarkable man.
