Football – FAIS Leinster Cup, BC V Coláiste Éanna

Commiserations to captain Peter Quinlan (6th year) and the senior soccer team on their loss to Coláiste Éanna in the Leinster Cup. Coláiste Éanna started the better and deservedly went 1-0 up. We grew into the game throughout the 1st half and started to put pressure on the Coláiste Éanna defence.

In the second half we started strongly. Scott Cullinane (6th year), Ronan Cowhey and Eoin O’Farrell (both 5th year) were finding gaps in behind the Coláiste Éanna midfield. In the 75th minute a strike by Camilo Fernandez (6th year) equalised the game. We pushed on again until the final whistle.

In extra time we were unable to get that break through and the game went to penalties.
Unfortunately for us it wasn’t to be and Coláiste Éanna held their nerve to progress 4-3 to the next round of the cup.
