Senior Soccer – FAI Schools Leinster Semi-Final, March 2024
FAI Schools Leinster Cup
Semi Final

BLACKROCK COLLEGE 1 |
MARIAN COLLEGE 4 |
Unfortunately, for the 2nd year in a row, the Senior Soccer team came up short in the FAI Schools Leinster Cup semi- final. The scoreline may reflect a one-sided game, it was anything but that. Goals at crucial times in the game for Marian College proved too much for the team to get back into the game. But it wasn’t for the want of trying. A Luke Hayes (6th year) goal gave the team a lifeline at 3-0 down. Moments later, a Jack Luff (5th year) header was excellently saved by the Marian goalkeeper and he was called into action again shortly after when saving a Geordy Lavin (5th year) effort.
We sincerely thank Mr. O’Brien and all the coaches who work with the team throughout the year.
This is not the end of the season for the boys. They have the Joe MC Grath trophy to play for, hopefully we can regain it – we wish them well.
