Past V Present Debate

We congratulate the ‘Present’ team of John Huggard, Mark Landers, Mark McGrane and Oliver Bosworth (all 6th Year) which successfully proposed the motion that “This House believes that this generation has been handed a bleak future”, despite the best efforts of the ‘Past’ team of Tom Dwan (Class of 2019), Robert McCarthy (Class of 2011), Toirleac O’Brien (Class of 1975) and Barry O’Donnell (Class of 1989).
It was an excellent debate enjoyed by a packed Lecture Hall.
We thank our chairman, Eoin Martin (Class of 2005), adjudicators, Michael Ryan (Class of 2018), Mr Sheil, Ms Pierce and Ms Kelleher, Time keeper, Tom O’Connor (6th Year), President of the Union, Stephen Mullin (Class of 1983) and the co-ordinator of the Past team Shane Murphy (Class of 1981).
