MUN – Claregalway College 2020

COMUN 2020

Claregalway College hosted their first online MUN conference on the 24th and 25th of April and hosted 50 participants. Blackrock entered 6 delegates Michael Lucey representing Nigeria, Joey Haughton and Alex Kirrane representing Israel (all 5th year), Conor Casey representing DRC and Frazier McGinn and Jamie Starr Bourke representing the USA (all 3rd year).

The conference ran with ease despite the circumstances and we thank Claregalway for all their work hosting the conference on Teams. A range of issues were deferred such as The Falkland Islands, Moderating Nuclear Weapons and Women’s Rights in the workplace.

Blackrock came away with three Distinguished Delegate awards from Conor Casey (3rd Year), Joey Haughton and Alex Kirrane (both 5th Year).

We thank Mr. Mark Smyth for his continuous work and encouragement.
