Green Schools, Oct 2021

Fr. O’Brolchain, on Thursday 21st October, blessed our new Bicycle Parking Bays before a gathering of our Green Schools Committee, Ms Harlowe, Ms Wyse, Mr Patrick Farrell (Pattersons),
Mr Fintan O’Connor (College Buildings and Grounds Manager), Mr O’Shea and Mr Madden.

We now have 274 parking bays of which 134 are covered. Student Chairman Rober McNabb (6th Year), talked about the importance of this investment not just for the environment but as an encouragement to the Green Schools Committee who actively promoted the cause.

The group then moved to the front lawn where we raised our Green School’s pennants awarded for (1) Biodiversity, (2) Marine, (3) Energy, (4) Litter and Waste, (5) water and Global Citizenship and (6) Marine Enterprise. We also raised our new Green Schools flag.

We congratulate my colleagues, Ms Harlowe and Ms Wyse and our excellent committee on their activism for the environment.
