Christmas Chess Tournament 2020

24 boys contested our inaugural Christmas Chess Tournament last Wednesday 16th December. There were 6 teams of 4 and after 3 rounds Team B  finished in first place, Team F was second and Team D was 3rd.

1st Place, Team B: Conor Hughes, Rory O’ Kane (both 4th Year), George Francis (5th Year) and Conor Wall (2nd Year)

2nd Place, Team F: John Duffy, Mark McCabe (both 5th Year), Andrew Welch (4th Year) and Senan McCloskey (3rd Year)

3rd Place, Team D: Liam Norton (4th Year), Colum Corless (5th) Peter McVeigh, (3rd) and Mark Goss Keogh (2nd)

The competition was a tremendous success and we thank our participants as well as Oliver Coffey and Gavin Bowen O’Connor (both 4th Year) who helped with the organisation.

We particularly thank Ms Wyse who provided the inspiration and direction.
