Chess Update – March 2019

JUNIOR B v GONZAGA

Last Tuesday 5th March our Junior B. Team travelled to Gonzaga College to play their U16 team in the Leinster League. Gonzaga are the current Leinster and All Ireland league holders so we knew it would be a tough morning of matches. Although well beaten on the scoreboard, the team represented us with both enthusiasm and skill.

Team: Mark McCabe, Jamie Blackburn, John Duffy (all 3rd Year), Charlie Parsons and Andrew Welch, (both 2nd Year).

JUNIOR A v ST. BENILDUS

The following day our A team took on Benildus in the same competition and won a tight match 3-2.

Team: Sean O’Connor (3rd Year), Conor Hughes, Liam Norton (both 2nd Year), Matthew Collins and Patrick Curley (both 3rd Year).
