Blackrock College Swim Team, May 2022

Last Wednesday, 18th May, our Swim Team competed in a Gala against Clongowes and Terenure held in Clongowes Wood College.

Unfortunately, due to the time of year we had very low numbers with only 1st, 2nd and 3rd Years represented. Each swimmer was entered in two individual events and we were top of the heats in all entered races. As Clongowes pool is brand new, they still have no starting blocks, so relays were not able to be swum.

Terenure College came very prepared with its team in its entirety and easily took the win. Blackrock and Clongowes were very close but unfortunately, we were defeated by 2 points.

Overall, it was a great experience for the team members who were able to travel to the gala for which we would like to thank Evan O’Brien for helping out with. Davide Mei (Class of 2019) was also able to make the journey and he was key with coordinating the swim.
