Basketball – Past v Present Match 2022

A highly entertaining past v present match took place on Wednesday last, 9th February in the Sports Hall.

Racing into an 11-1 lead it looked like the greater experience of the ‘past’ team would be telling. However, character has been the hallmark of this years senior team and this game certainly did not lack a competitive edge. A back and forth battle ensued. At one stage ‘past’ led 37-24 however the present team came back to lead 43-42 at one point before a number of crucial scores saw the past team run out winners in a game that was up for grabs until the very end.

Our sincere thanks to the past team of Rob Somers and Rory Linane (Class of 2017), Barry O’Sullivan and Karl Conroy (Class of 2018), Roberto Brusasca and Duran Osan (Class of 2019), Nico Brusasca (Class of 2020 and MVP with 28 points), and Zac Potter (Class of 2021) for their contribution to a fantastic occasion.

Thanks to Mr O’Neill for his organisation this novel event. A great end to the season.
