The Lockdown Relay Marathon

Congratulations to Max Caskey, Max Brophy, Danny Clarke, Colm Cowhey, Will Fitzgerald, Matthew Galligan, Sam Green, Joe Tansey, Andrew Harvey, Freddie Mullin, Fergal O’Sullivan, Shane O’Sullivan and Paddy Van Zuydam on completing this fantastic challenge whilst maintaining social distancing and staying within their 2K radius.

An incredible €17,700 was raised for the two charities Our Lady’s Hospice Blackrock and ‘Goodgrub’, which distributes fruit and vegetables to the families of school children in the inner city DEIS schools.

Max Caskey started the relay at 11 am last Saturday morning, 2nd May with Matthew Galligan completing the 42km course just after 2 pm, with each of the 13 boys having run just over 3km.

In congratulating the boys, we also thank Mr Brian O’Sullivan (Class of 1981) whose brain child it was and his fellow parents for making it possible. Thanks to Garry Ringrose (Class of 2013) for his message to the boys.
