Football – Blackrock College V Clonkeen College

Congratulations to captain Cian Ryan (Transition Year) and our U16 team who beat a depleted Clonkeen College side to advance to the Quarter-Final stages of the Dublin Schools competition.

Playing into a strong breeze in the first half, we established a 1-5 to 0-2 lead at half time and in the second half with the wind behind us pulled away. The score line flatters us, and the players know that there is plenty of room for improvement.

We play a talented Coláiste Cois Life next, who defeated us in last year’s final and we will need to be more clinical on front of goal to win.

Scorers on the day were Darragh Dempsey (5th Year) (1-8), Paddy Corbett (T Year) (1-1), Charlie O’ Brien (T Year) (1-0), Hugh O’Riordan (T Year) (0-2) and Seán Purcell (T Year) (0-1).
