As the scoreline suggests this was a very open match with a heartbreaking result for captain Sam Mooney (5^th Year) and his squad. Goals from Sam Long and Pearse Kearney (both TY) put Rock 2-0 before Benildus pulled a goal back from a free kick.

A penalty from Jack Kelly (TY) saw Rock lead 3-1. Benildus, to their credit, responded excellently and we failed to take advantage of being in complete control of the match. Benildus equalised to make it 3-3 at half time. It was a tight second half and we had numerous chances to retake the lead but two very late goals from Benildus and one pulled back from ourselves saw the game finish 5-4.
