Blackrock played excellently for the final 25 minutes of this match. However a poor start to the game ultimately left us with too much to do and Clonkeen just about held on for the win. Trailing 3-0 at half time and then 4-0 early in the second half, the team showed great character to dig in and get themselves back in the game. Goals from Jack Kelly (TY) and two from Dominic Doyle (TY) gave us hope but unfortunately time ran out.

Though this was another league match, Sam Mooney (Captain 5th Year) and his squad needed a win to qualify for the quarter finals after Christmas. The high press and work rate of the team throughout was superb. Goals from Jack Kelly (4), Arden Dunne, Conor Barrett (all TY) and Daniel Norton (5th Year) secured the win and a league quarter final away to St.Benildus after Christmas.
