Rugby JCT Cup Campaign – Semi Final, March 2024

The JCT Cup Campaign did not end in the way that we would have hoped for this squad of talented players. Facing a scoreline of 14-0 against them at half time, it would have been very easy for the team to let their heads dip but they didn’t. Far from it. This incredible group fought back as a team managing to put 24 points on the board in less than 20 minutes. They worked hard for each other, supported each other, encouraged each other right to the final whistle. Unfortunately, a place in the JCT final was not to be this year.

Sincere thanks go to all those that have supported the team on their journey this year, coaches; medics; our teaching, grounds, maintenance, catering and accommodation staff; cheerleaders; supporters, those in Donnybrook and those that returned to the school, and; of course, to all the boys’ parents. This is a moment in their journey through Blackrock and we will support them in their loss as we would had they won.

We look forward to the boys’ next steps in their rugby journey and wish Terenure College all the best in the final.
