Rowing – Neptune and Commercial Regatta

On April 1st and 2nd, Blackrock College Rowing Club attended Neptune and Commercial Regattas. Both regattas were attended by over 35 rowing clubs from around the country.

In appalling conditions our j16 8+ beat the Enniskillen J18 8+, giving the squad their first medals of the year. The crew demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

A special mention goes to the Coxswain, Rossa Clonan, whose motivational and leadership skills helped steer the team to victory.

On Sunday the weather was much more pleasant and our Junior 14 B and Junior 15 quads won medals. The junior 15 quad beat Colaiste Iognaid in a great demonstration of willpower and determination.

Overall, the regattas were a great experience, especially for our Junior 14 and 15 crews that had never raced before, and the boys should be proud of their efforts. We are confident that they will continue to achieve success in future regattas this season.
